J-LOC Jaw Boring Procedure

MARK JAWS (1,2,3)

MOUNT JAWS ON CHUCK
 

BOLT ALL MASTER JAWS THE SAME DISTANCE FROM THE CENTER OF THE CHUCK

 

MARK INSERTS (1,2,3,)

BACK OUT THE CONE POINT LOCK SCREW.

PLACE INSERTS IN CORRESPONDING MASTER JAW

PLACE INSERT IN MASTER JAW.
(MAKE SURE THE HOOK ON THE INSERT IS
AGAINST THE LOCK PIN IN THE JAW.


TIGHTEN CONE POINT LOCK SCREW.
(USE SHORT HEX KEY WRENCH)

INSERT PINS IN THE INNER MOST BOLT COUNTER BORE OF THE MASTER JAWS
(MAKE SURE THE PINS FIT THE COUNTER BORE WELL AND GO DOWN AGAINST THE TOP OF THE BOLT HEAD)

ONCE INSERTED, THESE PINS SHOULD STICK UP PAST THE MASTER JAW APPROXIMATELY 5/8" TO 3/4"
CLAMP ON BORING RING WITH THE INSERTED PINS.

THIS RING SHOULD BE APPROXIMATELY 1/2" THICK WITH AN I.D. HOLE WITH ADEQUATE WALL THICKNESS TO ALLOW THE BORE SIZE NEEDED.

WHEN CLAMPED THE JAWS SHOULD BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TOTAL JAW STROKE

 

BORE INSERTS APPROXIMATELY .OO5" SMALLER THAN THE O.D. OF THE WORKPART
REMOVE BORING RING AND BORING PINS.

INSERT WORK PART AND CLAMP.
